Alex Hill

1906 - 1937

Alex Hill piano
Enfant prodige du piano, Alex Hill dirige son propre ensemble à partir de 1924 avec qui il se produit dans les Etats-Unis. Après être passé par Chicago, il s'installe à New-York en 1930 ou il est engagé au Savoy Ballroom. Outre ses talents de pianiste, Alex Hill travaille comme arrangeur pour de nombreux musiciens tels que Paul Whiteman, Benny Carter et Duke Ellington. Il collabore avec Fats Waller et Adelaïde Hall en décembre 1930 dans un show appellé "Hello 1931".

La maladie met fin à sa carrière et il meurt de tuberculose en 1937.
